About
About KenergyAI
KenergyAI builds AI software that overlays the HVAC systems buildings already have, so they stop heating, cooling and ventilating empty space.
Our mission
To reduce the energy buildings spend conditioning unoccupied space, using the systems they already own.
What we do
One platform. Four modules.
Deploy one on its own, or combine them.
KenergyAI is an AI HVAC overlay software company. Our platform sits on top of a building's existing HVAC equipment, BMS, thermostats, lighting controls and schedules, reads occupancy or schedules from the data those systems already hold, and adjusts HVAC only where space is empty.
- AI Occupancy Based HVAC ControlsCore module
AI control of HVAC through the BACnet BMS, using occupancy from networked lighting controls or occupancy sensors.
-
Connects classroom and event scheduling systems to HVAC.
-
Occupancy-based control for thermostat-served spaces, using your lighting control sensors, through a Raspberry Pi gateway.
-
Track, verify and report HVAC energy savings across your buildings.
Our approach
Software on top of the systems you already run.
- 01
Software on your network.
AI HVAC Controls and Schedule + HVAC Integration are software only and install on a server or virtual machine on your network. Thermostat + NLC runs through a Raspberry Pi gateway on your network. No construction and no capital project on any module.
- 02
Built on existing systems.
We work with the BMS, lighting controls, sensors and schedules already in place. Where networked lighting controls exist, AI HVAC Controls needs no new hardware; elsewhere, it remains software only with no construction.
- 03
Facilities stay in control.
The BMS continues to run occupied comfort, sequences of operation are unchanged, and facilities teams can override or switch off KenergyAI at the zone or building level from the BMS front end.
- 04
Measured results.
We report savings from metered data and, where available, independent verification.

Standards and compliance relevance
Relevant to the standards your buildings face.
- Title 24
- Relevant to the occupied-standby controls Title 24 (2025) requires in qualifying new nonresidential spaces; KenergyAI helps existing buildings apply the same idea, setting back HVAC in empty rooms, in software.
- BEPS and LL97
- Helps you work toward building performance standards by reducing HVAC energy, typically the largest controllable load.
- ENERGY STAR
- Lower HVAC energy is reflected in Portfolio Manager benchmarking.
KenergyAI does not certify or guarantee compliance with Title 24, BEPS, LL97 or any other standard, or guarantee ENERGY STAR scores.
