Scheduling system + BMS

Your class schedule already knows when rooms are empty.

True Software Only Solution

Classroom Schedule + HVAC Integration connects your classroom or event scheduling system directly to your HVAC. Software only, no sensors.

The problem

Booked and conditioned are rarely the same thing.

Most campus HVAC runs on building-wide occupied hours, while each classroom is only booked for part of the day.

Occupied hours vs. booked time

Illustrative

A self-assessment for your team

Export one building's BMS occupied schedule and the class schedule for the same week, then line them up. Every hour the HVAC runs with no class is an hour you are conditioning nobody.

How it works

Room by room, from the schedule you already maintain.

Software only. No sensors.
  1. 01

    Connects to your scheduling system.

Works with classroom and event scheduling software that offers an API or other interface.

  2. 02

    Nothing scheduled, comfort eases off.

When a room has nothing scheduled, it widens deadbands so the room isn't held at full comfort.

  3. 03

    Ready before people arrive.

Before a scheduled class or event, it pre-heats or pre-cools so the room is comfortable when people arrive.

  4. 04

Your BMS stays as it is.

Your BMS and its sequences of operation stay as they are. Facilities keep full override control.

Where it's running

How it works, running at CSUN's Maple Hall.

Running today at CSUN's Maple Hall

  1. Reads the schedule. It reads the class and event schedule from your scheduling system through its API or other interface.
  2. Compares it with HVAC run times. It compares the schedule with when the HVAC is told to run.
  3. Writes setpoints to the BMS.It writes schedule-based setpoints and occupied/unoccupied modes to the BMS through BACnet, so rooms with nothing scheduled ease off and are ready before people arrive.
  4. Your BMS stays in charge.Facilities teams keep full override.

We don't have measured savings data for Schedule + HVAC Integration yet. We'll publish measured results once we have them.

Who it's for

Built for scheduled spaces.

  • Campuses with a room scheduling system and a BACnet BMS

Especially buildings without networked lighting controls.

  • Spaces with predictable schedules

Classrooms, lecture halls, auditoriums and conference rooms.
